Why this Competition?

The dream of a drought-free Maharashtra cannot be achieved by water conservation alone. It is also critical to work on smart water management, especially in agriculture. However, transitioning from traditional farming methods and adapting to water-efficient crops isn’t easy for farmers. The key to unlocking this transformation lies in making water-smart agriculture not just sustainable, but remunerative. The Farmer Cup creates an ecosystem for farmers to do just this.

Equipped with best cropping practices and a network to navigate challenges, farmers find strength in numbers. They use their collective strength to slash cultivation costs, engage in shared labour and command better prices for their high-quality produce.
